AND HE’S EVER INTERCEDING - - song

I was reading today and came to Hebrews 7:25.  I had recently listened to AND HE’S EVER INTERCEDING, so was reminded of this song again.  The scripture and song words says more than I could about Jesus’ interceding for us.

Heb 7:22   By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
:23   And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
:24   But this [man], because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
:25   Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

AND HE’S EVER INTERCEDING           Words sang by The SPEERS
      W & M by Carolyn Gillman      (1977)      Key:  Eb

1.  Someone to go the extra mile, Just like a mother caring for her child;
A friend who sticks through thick or thin, No matter what you've done or where you've been;
Just like one great big family, A stronger, older brother He will be;
So quick and ready to defend , The younger, weaker to the end.

Chorus:
And He's ever interceding, to the Father for His children;
Yes, He's ever interceding, to the Father for His own;
Through Him you can reach the Father, So, bring Him all your heavy burdens;
Yes, for you He's interceding, So, come boldly to the throne.

2, Just like sheep, we've gone astray, Struggling 'neath the debt we could not pay;
Not ever hoping to renew, The love and fellowship that we once knew;
But He began to intercede; Crying, “Father, please, forgive, I plead.”
And as the nails pierced in His hands, God, once again, reached out to man.

  2. I have been studying Hebrews and I looked up the lyrics to this song for the same reason you posted your blog. I sang this song with my family years ago. It was one of my dad's favorite songs. He went to his heavenly home 3 years ago. His name was Papaw Leon. Thank you for posting.
